Date: January 9, 2016 held at the Church of Christ, Riverton, WY                                                                Time: 1pm

The last meetings minutes were read by the secretary. a motion was made, accepted and carried to accept the minutes as read. the Secretary mentioned that she had to create an email address for the new computer that could be used to upload documents to the web. Here is that address: wpasecretary1849@gmail.com    The treasurer read the financial report. A motion was made, accepted and carried to accept the financial report as read. Treasurer then reported on donations made since the last meeting and correspondence (thank you’s) received. Every November the club makes donations to several local groups and this last November the board dropped the ball and forgot to ask the club who they wanted to donate to due to there being so much to discuss regarding the BLM/Sage Grouse land grab. And because the club has always donated, the board decided, following the by-laws, to go ahead and do several donations. Here’s a list of the four groups the club shared financial support to for 2015:

  1. Christian Food Storehouse $150
  2. Wind River Heritage $150
  3. VFW Relief Fund $175

And by way of reminding the club, in our last meeting we decided to donate $1000 to the MMAC fund to help in their efforts to protect small mining districts.    The club discussed the BLM land grab (Sage Grouse habitat issue) further. The Lansberry family have gone the extra mile (or three) to contact so many of our representatives and various other agencies regarding this issue. They reported their happenings. We did discuss a need to form a committee with members who live in various parts of the state each doing the necessary research to find all the small mining districts. Nothing official has been formed. Several members are doing some research and if they need help they were asked to reach out to others when needed.          We thought it might be a good idea to invite as many of our state representatives to one of our upcoming meetings so the club can show our support and perhaps be kept in the loop.  Janiece reported back on the club's printer issue. She may have found a much newer, slightly used printer for much less cost to the club. she’ll keep the club posted. We then also discussed the annual outing. Since the site where we typically hold that event is up in question we thought it prudent to seek other options. If anyone has any ideas please let the club know. The site needs to have some access to water and we must be allowed to camp legally.  The site on Hwy 28 behind the rest stop at Sweet Water was mentioned as one option, another was near Carl’s place or near Rock Creek, or Yankee Gulch. This definitely needs more discussion.
Next Meeting: March 12 potluck lunch at noon at the Church of Christ in Riverton, with meeting to follow at 1pm
Meeting adjourned @ 2pm

Karen Schroeder, Secretary
