The meeting of the Wyoming Prospectors Association was
called to order by President Keith Blair, at 1:00 pm.. Vice President Kimberly
Raymond read the minutes from the previous meeting, which was held in Farson.
No corrections/additions were made and stand approved as read. Treasurer
Deb Palmer read the treasurers’ report. Deb, also, read the correspondence
from Public Land for People regarding our membership renewal. She informed
the members that they were also selling raffle tickets for multiple prizes.
A motion was made and carried to purchase the raffle tickets, for the club,
which were enclosed in the correspondence letter.
Deb read a letter to the club members from Connie
Aultman informing us that she is back. She is hoping to be back in her
home, in Casper, shortly. Randy will drop her a note, as her name
is on the claims that have been closed to the rest of the membership.
Jim Rutter brought up the topic of obtaining exploration
permits for the claims that the club has. He, also, informed the club that
Fred Jorgensen has retired and a new person is in charge of these permits.
Randy explained that we have an active exploration permit. He explained
that this is good for our claims except for the ones that Jim Hinesley
withdrew. We have the auger for doing some exploration and if we
find something that is worthwhile, the club will amend the permit to do
other types of exploration. If we find something that is good, Carl
has volunteered his time and machinery to help the club and letting us
run the material through his trummel.
The Board reported on their meeting, which was held prior
to the regular meeting today. They informed the club that it was decided
to purchase 2 fire extinguishers and a first aid kit for the club Kimberly
will order these items for the club. It was decided that the club
should have a raffle, the 1st place prize will be a golden double eagle
coin, and the 2nd prize will be .5 oz gold nugget. The tickets will be
sold for $1 each or 6 for $5. Bruce and Peggy Gress will be in charge
of the raffle. It was then decided that they will order 2500 ticket and
sell them till we have the drawing on September 10, 2005.
New business was the Outdoor show in Casper. Les and Pat
will check on the dates for the show, and if it even possible to find a
place for the club, should we decide to participate in it this year.
Les Armstrong has volunteered to chair the Day in the Park project.
CPR classes were brought up at this time due to the age
of some of our members and the type of active we are involved in.
There will be several club members who will check with certified CPR instructors
on cost and time for the classes. The next meeting will be held March
12, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be at Randy’s house.
Meeting was adjourned and drawing for prizes then took place. Congratulations
to all the winners. A big thanks to all the members who brought the
good food to the meeting. Hoping to see more of you next time.
Maybe the weather will be more cooperative for those that have to travel.
Respectfully submitted
