WPA MINUTES FOR May13, 2006

President Randy Hutchison called the meeting of the Wyoming Prospectors to order at 3:22 p.m. at the Dredge in Atlantic City.

Introductions were made, as there were many new members present.

Secretary Kimberlee Raymond read the minutes from the April meeting.  No corrections necessary, motions were made and the minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer Deb Palmer read the treasurers report.  There were deposits made and bills paid.  Motions were made and the report was approved as read.

Vice President Scott Luers reported on his trip to Washington.  He did report that compared to some other states, Wyoming does have simpler laws and regulations as far as prospecting. He also told us  that he obtained some names of various people who could help with any legal issues that may arise in the future.  The Equal Access for the People is a group to help everyone where the Public Land for the People is for the local groups, which gives us more access to help with legalities. He stated that there are still several issues that still need researched to know where we stand with laws and regulations.  He will keep us informed as new answers are learned.

Committee reports:

Claims Committee:  Les reported that he and Randy were able to get to all the claims and they are open for prospecting.

Cooker Committee:  Cooker is getting close to done.  A few minor parts left to add and should be done by June outing.

Outing Committee:  Meals for the outing were discussed and decided. 

Old Business:

Deb reported that it is time to pay the lease land payment.  The motions were made and carried to pay the payment for the lease land for future use.

Next meeting to be held at the MARY D1.  We will meet at the Sweetwater rest are at 9:00 a.m. for a mini outing and then a meeting at 1:00 p.m.  Following the meeting we will have a cookout to test the new cooker.  The club will supply the burgers and buns, if everyone could bring a side dish, drinks and eating utensils.  BRING YOUR CHAIRS!
