Minutes for meeting held on March 14, 2020
Meeting called to Order at: 1:04PM Location: Wind River Heritage Center
. Introductions were made with 3 officers and 12 members present.
The minutes of the last meeting were read by Deb Palmer. Randy Hutchison asked for the minutes be amended to read that he had been tasked to inquire about leasing the land at Big Atlantic Gulch, where outings have been held in the past. Les Armstrong seconded the motion. Minutes were approved as amended.
Deb Palmer gave the Treasurers report. A motion was made by Les to accept the Treasurers report as read and it was seconded by Randy. The motion was passed.
Committee Reports:
Randy reported that the owner of the land did not want to lease the land, as he is trying to sell it. He did not grant permission for the Association to use it for this year’s outing. He stated that he would sell for $180,000. Randy suggested that the Association start to save money for purchasing a piece of property in the future so that we will always have a place to have our outing. Some discussion followed.
Old Business:
It was reported that Carl had filed the Quit Claim Deed for the Bridge Buster Claim. He has granted the use of the claim to the Association Members. Once he starts work be sure to not interfere with his operation.
New Business:
Les Armstrong stated that the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department has asked to use the Association’s BBQ grill at an event for the Special Olympics on April 18, 2020. He stated that the Fire Department has used it in the past and always takes very good care of it and replenishes any product used. A motion was made by Mary Hutchison and seconded by Randy to allow the use of the grill. Motion passes.
Deb read a letter from the “Day in the Park” committee inquiring if the Association would be participating. After discussion it was tabled until the next meeting.
Deb announced that Jacque Schmidt passed away. She had been a loyal member and held several offices in the Association. A card was signed to be sent to the family. Anyone wanting to send a card personally can contact Deb for the address.
The next meeting is scheduled for April 11, 2020 at the Miners Grubstake in Atlantic City. Breakfast will be served at 9:00 and the meeting will be at 10:00. Due to the Covid-19 situation this meeting may be canceled or changed, be sure to watch the web site for further information.
Meeting Adjourned.
Terry Irvin was the lucky winner of the 50-50 drawing.
See you all next time,
Respectfully submitted
Mary Hutchison, for Joyce Raymond (get well soon)
