Regular Meeting Minutes
August 12, 2023
The meeting was called to order at 9:18 a.m. at the intersection of Dickinson Ave. and Atlantic City Rd. by the county road equipment.
Officers present were: Jim Brines (President), and Jacque Stoldt (Treasurer).  There were 16 members, 2 guests and 5 children at the meeting.
Jacque Stoldt read the meeting minutes from the June 24, 2023 meeting.  Paula Jones motioned to accept the minutes as read.  Les Armstrong seconded the motion.  All ayes; motion passed.
Jacque Stoldt read the treasurer’s report.  Randy Hutchison motioned to accept the treasurer’s report as read.  Paula Jones seconded the motion.  All ayes; motion passed.
Correspondence: There was no correspondence at this meeting.
Officer/Committee Reports:  Claim corner updating has stalled.  There hasn’t been any work done as of this point.
Old Business:
BLM Rules: There was a discussion revolving around the BLM rules for filing claim information and how to work around them.  Jim wants the WPA to research how to legally claim lands without having to file with the BLM. Randy offered to try to find the time to meet with Alice Gustin to discuss this matter.
President:  Jim Brines offered to step up for one more year as president, if a sub-committee is formed to go meet with Alice to learn about county and BLM rules.
Officer Elections:
            President: Jim Brines offered to take the position for 1 more year. Randy Hutchison motioned to nominate Jim Brines as President.  Paula seconded the motion.  All ayes; motion passed.
            Vice President:  Paula Jones motioned to nominate Shawn Raymond as Vice President.  Les Armstrong seconded the motion.  All ayes; motion passed.
            Secretary: No one offered to fill this position. It was decided to table the election of a secretary until the September meeting.
            Treasurer: Randy Hutchison motioned to nominate Jacque Stoldt as Treasurer.  Les Armstrong seconded the motion.  All ayes; motion passed.
The Wyoming Prospectors Association can’t stay active without officers.  If you can help, please step up and let us know!  You can email wpagold@wyoming.com if you have any questions!! We really need a secretary!
New Business:
Claim Markings: We need to make sure that all of our claims have their information on the corner posts. They should also all have a discovery marker where color was first discovered.  The sub-committee can work on this as they take care of the corner markers.
Les Armstrong ended up with 2 extra camp chairs when he got home from the annual outing. If these might be yours, you can call him at 307-856-5140 to get them back.
The next meeting will be at the intersection of Dickinson Ave. and Atlantic City Rd. by the county road equipment on September 9, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
There will be a mini outing to the Big Easy claim following the outing.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:57 a.m.
